To dub or not to dub

Let me preface this by saying if you can sell tickets you can play banjo with a howling dog and you will get booked.

But there are defined categories that make everything easier to explain to promoters.

It’s very simple to package up and artist and say “this is the Saturday night dubstep DJ in Phoenix this weekend.”

I’m noticing that the BC project is mostly being slotted into this category. But I’m not a traditional dubstep DJ.

Even so, I have to use the pluses of being marketable.  I’m sure a lot of people can relate even on the listener side of things. Sometimes it’s just easier to tell grandma you listen to EDM instead of UK Garage and be done with it.

There’s no real point to this rant except to say I’m not just going to be dubstep guy #7 I’m always going to play rap, funk, bass, jungle, and yes …. a little dubstep.

Much love, Barclay

P.s. new music coming out with Zeke beats in 2 weeks
